This curriculum evolved over five years of teaching forest school in Alaska. I created three lessons and one field trip for each month of a typical school year. Each lesson was developed to encourage independent exploration and learning. The lesson starts with a topic introduction for the leader and then guides the learner to set off and explore that topic. Pictures, diagrams, and student drawn images enhance the pages. Each lesson includes questions to ask the learner, reading and guide book suggestions, art activities, STEM projects, and journalling prompts. The curriculum concludes with directions to areas in Anchorage perfect for the lessons. [This can be used for learners in preK to 5th grade.]
