Greed, jealousy, anger...
When a music mogul moves into the local manor house, bringing a rock band with him, the arrival stirs up a myriad of emotions for the nearby villagers of Middleton. Petty quarrels and disagreements follow, with residents convinced the musicians will bring nothing but trouble.
It seems they're right, when things at the manor take a deadly turn, and Chief Inspector Hilary Heart is brought in to investigate. But is it murder, suicide or accident? Tackling animosity from both the locals and the incomers, Hilary quickly realises everyone involved has their own agenda and no-one seems interested in telling the truth.
As the body count increases, so do the lies, and Hilary finds herself in a race against time to catch an obsessed killer who will stop at nothing to get what they want.
