After their exploits in 'Cherry-1 A Combat Controllers Tale, ' and 'Mystery of The Mist at Cyan Mountain.'
R.J. and Cherry are in their mid-lives and living it pretty normally. He, is continuing his engineering work at the electronics factory and She, at her children's clinic. They have a son, Douglas who is a Pre-Med Student in College, Molly and Kyle, the twins, are in high school and are currently into Animal Husbandry, they are both interested in opening a Large Animal Veterinary hospital.
They still live in RJ's hometown of Pine Creek, where he grew up with his parents Dan and Martha Jansen, and his siblings younger brother Tom and older sister Lanora.
Dan and Martha own and operate the Lazy J restaurant and are getting ready to retire. Tom is a flight instructor in Kansas City and Marsha his wife, is a now retired FBI Special Agent. They are considering opening a Private Detective Agency in Kansas City.
Lanora is married to Darren and they have two daughters. He works for an Oil field / Chemical company, she is a CPA, and owns and operates a large Accounting and Law firm in Pine Creek. Mandy, their youngest has gone off to culinary school and is preparing to take over owner and operator of the Lazy J Casual and Fine dining establishment. Lea received a journalism degree and is currently working at a small market TV station in Sparksdale. She has her eye on a large market position at a Kansas City TV station.
The town of Pine Creek is located in middle America and would be characterized as a sleepy sort of mundane no-nonsense community that has recently grown to a population of about thirty-five thousand people, give or take a few after College and High School graduations.
The peace and tranquility of this relatively unknown and unassuming community was about to change with the shock wave of an F-4 tornado that scorched the Northwest side of the county and clipped the County Fair grounds. It turned out to be one of a massive wave of tornadoes spawned across the Plains resulting from a Collison of Gulf moisture and a Super cell low pressure front.
No strangers to mysteries and challenges, the team of Jansen and Company must now unravel a new mystery caused by the 'Storm of the Century.' One that once again vaults them into another universe of problem solving.
The situation develops when a strange looking cloud begins to form over the County Fair Grounds, no one notices until the wind suddenly reaches hurricane velocity. What happens next is the rest of the story.
