Debbie Lavender is a pastor's wife in Georgia. She and her husband Paul have three children and two grandchildren. They have been in the ministry since the day they were married being involved in church music, youth ministry, camp ministry, conferences, Sunday School, children's clubs, Christian schools, and wherever they have been needed. In recent years Debbie has become more interested in writing, including a devotional for ladies on their church's website called Sister 2 Sister which she enjoys writing as the Lord gives her inspiration. Her motivation in life is to please the Lord with whatever area of service He gives her. She considers it an honor to be the Lord's child! All glory belongs to Him. Overcoming Being Overcome began as a workshop for ladies. Debbie was somewhat overwhelmed with the magnitude of all the Lord seemed to have given her to do in her day to day life. Realizing that being overcome with life might be a problem for many ladies, the Lord gave her a burden to share with others how to keep from living a defeated life. Trying to fit all the information into a forty-five minute session was impossible. She began to put her thoughts and blessings into a book. As time pressed on more was going on in her life than simply being busy. Dramatic changes were taking place, but God was her refuge through it all. Every lady can know the comfort and help of an ever present God in every phase of life.
