Pietismus und Neuzeit (Pietism and the Modern Era) has been published yearly since 1974 on behalf of the Historical Commission for the Study of Pietism. It offers an international and (inter)disciplinary, cultural and historical look at the research appearing on the history of recent Protestantism, particularly pietism in the context of European pietistic movements since the Early Modern Era. Besides studies on theological, pietistic and historical subjects, it largely publishes general historical studies on social history, mores and institutions, music and literature as well as medical and educational topics.
