Careful study shows the undeniable correlation between animal abuse and violence against humans, including child abuse, domestic violence, homicide, and violent sexual crimes. Yet, this criminal behavior is continuously eclipsed by the overzealous persecution of what is nothing more than a dog. Even though animal abuse is known to be a precursor of violence against humans, and despite the inherent injustice of animal abuse, as a society we continue wasting valuable time and putting lives in jeopardy by targeting breeds of dogs for annihilation rather than proactively focusing on the abusers of these animals. Undesired canine behavior can generally be predicted by examining an animal's environment and care (or lack thereof).
