In 2008, an international poet wants to visit Mable Bassett Correctional Center. Beth Robinson, an adjunct English instructor at Oklahoma City University is asked to go along and possibly lead inmate poetry workshops. For more than two years she drives to McLoud, Oklahoma every other Sunday where she is inspired and befriended by an amazing group of women. No longer able to go to MBCC, Robinson keeps corresponding with the group, promising to see their incredible work published. This book is that promise. It is only a glimpse at the healing power of words and the strength of women coming together to change lives beyond their own.
