Project Awakening follows a young Inventor, Helena Wattson, as she struggles to live up to her family name without revealing an ancient secret. On the eve of the year 3000, Helena returns home after a failed research project meant to be her debut into Inventor society to find that she has been denied entry to the family lab. Rejected, she pursues research of her own only to be caught up in the mysterious arrival of a strange young Inventor and the ever-growing sense that something is not quite right with her family's generation-long research, Project Awakening. What she discovers both horrifies and emboldens her to break through the centuries of tradition protecting Project Awakening.
