Alcoholism - (Life from the Other Side), began its theoretical fruition a few years ago, but only developing its physical form, during the months of September to December 2015. The composition of the poetry acted as my own therapeutic approach of dealing with the stressful and at times - torturous, repetitive issues within my life - that of living with a partner who has alcoholism. Whether it is seen as a drug addiction or a disease, there are partners, family members or friends that are still left to deal and cope with the befores, durings and afters of the behaviour. I was still determined to function and live with a modicum of normality. These poems have helped me to do this, as well as assisting me in keeping my sanity during the last 4 months. Read my emotional rollercoaster of poems including: Cans, Alcohol Dependent, The Receiver, The Shaky Shaky Woo Woos and Bloody Bastard Beer. I hope these poems offer an insight into being on the other side of alcoholism and act as a form of consolatory unity between those of us who are in the know, or as an enlightenment for those who are suffering on either side of this behavioural issue.
