In the midst of Hurricane Harvey, the Category 4 hurricane that made landfall in Texas on August 25, 2017, Dr. Pope was approached by her mortgage company, Nation Star Mortgage, about a Home Buyer Program designed to help homeowners impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Dr. Pope thought the program was giving her a lifeline but discovers almost nine months later her home was about to be foreclosed on by her "new" mortgage company Mr. Cooper.
