Russia builds a new super quiet nuclear submarine for Iran -- and also develops plans to prevent the submarine from ever reaching Iran. The U.S. detects the submarine during an operational test of a new acoustic/video sonobuoy, called Red Eye. Judicious placement of sonobuoy barriers by patrol aircraft keeps the submarine under surveillance during its transit. The Russian plan, with U.S. involvement, to shut down the reactor, flood the engine room, and eliminate the crew, is thwarted by a Russian Navy Captain and the Iranian crew aboard the submarine. The submarine finally does arrive in Iran. End of storymaybe.
