Jeff Schmidt was a big name in the rodeo circuit and he was determined not to settle down with any one woman. He played the field and took full advantage of the buckle bunnies that followed his career. One particular buckle bunny kept showing up at all of his gigs for well over a year and he had begun to look forward to seeing her without realizing what was happening. Then all of the sudden, she just stopped coming. It had been almost two years since he'd last seen Dana. Then all of the sudden, when he was between rodeos he was in town... just a few miles from his house when he spotted her at a pharmacist's office. Her sister was dying and she was there to take care of her and her daughter. Or at least Jeff thought the toddler was Dana's sisters' ... When he finds out that Alexis is actually his daughter things change for the self proclaimed lifetime bachelor. There are a lot of things he can do, but he can't turn his back on his own child. Not when her mother is about to lose the only family member she has. Dana is determined to raise Alexis herself. She's not about to hand her daughter over to her rodeo lover. Not while she's still got breath left in her lungs. The only way either of them will ever accept the other as a parent to the little girl they both loved was if they did it together.
