Written by world-leading authority on Steiner's teachings, Dr. Adrian Anderson, author of 17 books including the Rudolf Steiner Handbook.
The greatest esoteric painting ever created through Rudolf Steiner, known as The Triptych Grail, was painted by Anna May in 1912. It was intended for the Goetheanum, but during the 1940s was in Hamburg, where it was totally destroyed. But Marguerita Hauschka had taken a colour photograph of the huge work (6 x 2.5m) soon after it was completed, and made a poster of it available, in 1975.
The only book written about this painting, which is now available as an art print.
Dr. Anderson uses his expertise in anthroposophy and the Greek of the New Testament and merges these with his spiritual insights, to provide a unique guide to the bewildering array of some 50 persons and spiritual beings depicted here. He has also succeeded in discovering how the Hebrew name of God, as spoken to Moses, (Ehyeh asher Ehyeh) actually does confirm Rudolf Steiner's interpretation: "I am the I am".
The painting seeks to educate the viewer about the deep and sacred truths of cosmic Christianity, such as the relationship of each spiritual seeker to Christ Jesus, and the connection of the great leader of the medieval Rosicrucian movement to the Christ-impulse, over the ages.
Themes in the painting include: - The importance of Melchizedec - King Solomon's Temple, Hiram and the Queen of Sheba - The influence of Archangel Michael in 3000 BC, and in modern times - The Holy Grail, in three different aspects - The Time-Spirits governing the 4th and 5th Cultural Epochs - The connection of the zodiac and planets to the human being and to Christ - The Divine immersed in the World-cross (Plato) - Lifting up the 'Son of Man'
