Though the Salzburg Festival always holds a singular place in the hearts of classical music lovers, the 2010 event was a particularly special one, for that year marked both the 90th anniversary of the festival and the 50th anniversary of the Großes Festspielehaus. In recognition of this, the Salzburg organizers brought together a veritable "who's who" of classical performers, including conductor Daniel Barenboim, The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, and four soloists: tenor Klaus Florian V?gt, mezzo-soprano Elina Garan?a, bass René Pape and soprano Dorothea Röschmann. Selections from the event appear in this release, including Pierre Boulez's Notations I-IV & VII, Anton Bruckner's Te Deum and Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4 in G major, op. 58.
