The literacy formatted materials submitted in this seven volume series represent research designs specific in focus to the high school reader. Literacy formatted materials are defined as distinct from conventional text materials and worksheets in that formats are developed on the basis of Text Structure Analysis - what are the detailed structural elements of specific text, and Reader Processing Analysis - how should the mature reader strategically process specific text. Each included format in this series is designed to elicit student reading strategies in alignment with the requirements of text structure and consistent with legitimate reader objectives. These literacy based instructional materials are specific as research designs and were not initially intended for finished manuscript publication. Allowance, therefore, is requested for noted informalities. Frequent requests and use, however, have encouraged their offering on a broader scale, and are recommended as appropriate for early secondary level, junior high, adult education, language acquisition, special education, homeschooling, tutorial and continuation programs.
