Perhaps a misleading album in the Onslaught catalogue, THE SHADOW OF DEATH is a collection of rare demos from 1983 and '84 when the British band was actually a hardcore punk act. This 10-song compilation is really the foundation for the evolution of the influential thrash metalists who went on to inspire budding metal bands throughout the '80s. THE SHADOW OF DEATH can be looked upon as an origin story for one of the most hallowed bands in metal history. Credit goes to Candlelight Records for cleaning up these tracks, which were originally released on cassette in a limited capacity.
