Shakespeare with Noodles is a program designed to be young people's first introduction to Shakespeare. As such, costumes and prop pieces are constructed from swimming noodles. Utilizing melodrama and slap stick comedy, our shows are fast paced, but should you prefer to present a more traditional production, our scripts easily accommodate this. All titles in the series have a playing time of under 60 minutes. Henry IV & 3/4 is an abridged version of both Shakespeare's Henry IV Part 2 and Henry V. An aged Henry IV worries about the state of his kingdom, with insurrection simmering. Young Hal will enlist the help of Falstaff and his band of no-good-niks to thwart the rebels of the kingdom. Upon the death of his father, Henry V will take the throne and wage war on France where he is ultimately victorious. The scripts in this series have been edited with performance continuity in mind. Lines sometimes are distributed to characters who do not say them in the original. As much as possible we have utilized capitalization and punctuation to reflect line breaks from the original text, although it has been condensed into paragraphs to save space. Our scripts are also tailored to incorporate girls into traditionally male roles.
