Shephard's Prophecies, Volume 1 of 12, The Beginning, is a historical fiction, western. It takes place in the year 1882 in a fictionalized America, where superpowers, magic, science fiction, and prophecies are real. One day, Elliot Shephard saw a glorious vision, a vision illustrating the beginning of time leading up to the end of the world. The world will end with fire, and poison on April 6th, 1888. Terrified by the world's apocalyptic end, Elliot made a solemn vow to prevent the final portions of the vision from coming to pass. Elliot wrote and published a book describing how the world would end, and how to prevent that event- The Shephard's Book of Prophecies. The hope of Elliot, by creating the book, was that the people would read it and learn from its prophecies how to prevent the tragic ending of the world. Alas, many people don't believe in its words, how wrong they are.
During the vision, Elliot saw twelve heroes who will be of instrumental importance in saving the world. One of those twelve heroes is prophesied to stand above the rest and defeat the monstrous apocalypse single handedly. The only problem-Elliot's vision ended before it was revealed who that hero was.
