Based on the novel "The Jewish Dog" by Asher Kravitz, this World War II-set film is about a German Shepherd named Kaleb, originally owned by a Jewish family in Berlin. When the Nuremberg Laws impose that Jews cannot own dogs anymore, Kaleb becomes a stray and is separated from his family. An SS Officer picks up Kaleb and trains him to become a good hunter of hiding Jews. Conflict arises when, in a concentration camp, Kaleb sniffs the familiar scent of his Jewish family, especially the boy named Joshua. They both hide their connection from the officers. Directed by Lynn Roth.
