On January 6, 2021, former president Trump attempted a coup against our democratically elected government. He sent his supporters to take over our U.S. Capitol Building and stop the lawful counting of votes from an election he lost by over 7 million votes. They set up gallows and came within minutes of catching and hanging Vice-President Mike Pence and other members of Congress and trying to install a Trumpian dictatorship. Trump and his supporters have made it clear that they are not done. They have been arming themselves with guns and ammunition for their planned second American Civil War to put Trump in power permanently. A big part of their plan, just like Hitler in the 1930s pre-war Germany, is that no one will be armed to stop them. The founders of America anticipated that such a day could someday come and charged American citizens with the responsibility to defend our democratic republic. Democrats, Independents, and communities of color are deeply concerned. They are seeking information on what they should do.
