This single CD has all of the music from what were probably 's two finest recordings as a leader. Although there is solo space for pianists plus the two bassists and drummers, is the obvious star throughout. He displays plenty of energy, constantly pushes himself, and swings hard on both tenor and alto. Some of these performances border on the explosive.
