Song of the Hills
is composed of light and airy interpretations of old-time American music. Fiddle, flatpicked guitar, Dobro, and subtle orchestration run through most songs, giving a rich full sound on compositions ranging from spirituals to barn dances. Although the performances are clean and flawless, it is almost a shame to see such brilliant musicians slowed to a rather bland pace. While not for the most die-hard bluegrass and old-timey aficionados, the album is a gentle walk through pleasant versions of these comfortable tunes. ~ Zac Johnson
