For Frank, the dawn of the 1960's opened the doors to the Promised Land. Self-made, resourceful and determined to better himself, his foot is firmly on the corporate ladder, helped by the fact he had won the affections of his boss's daughter, Helen. For Helen, he represented everything she wanted and needed: ruggedly handsome, a solidly dependable affectionate and attentive man - ideal husband and father material. But Frank is far from perfect - he is a flawed character who cannot, despite his determined efforts, cut the bonds with his past. He has a liking for booze and has a wondering eye - a lethal combination. One mistake leads to another, and then one day, one major indiscretion is discovered, and he loses everything in a flash. Desperate to atone, he plans to win back his marriage, his son, and the life he had. But, is it too late to earn redemption? Frank's story is interwoven with the lives of several other characters and sub plots and is set against the backdrop of England in the early 'Sixties with the emerging drug culture and attitudes of the time. "Spiral" is a story of love and betrayal, human frailties, and ultimately self-awakening.
