When shy, introverted, Becca Shiner catches the eye, and ear, of rocker, Jacob Messenger, she finds herself STANDING AT THE DOOR to a life she had never dreamed of. Music has always been a part of Becca's life. She's a talented cello player and loves to sing, but she's painfully, awkwardly shy. She'd never admit to the crush she has on Jacob Messenger, the new guy at school. Jacob is a musician too, but the kind of music his rock band plays isn't what Becca is used to. The first time he hears her sing, he knows that her voice is what his band needs to give them the edge. It seems they both have something the other needs. The extra attention she gets from Jacob seems to be encouraging her to step outside her comfort zone and Jacob wants to make her a star. Her friends are encouraged by the change, and they are there to support and encourage her. But when a tragic accident occurs, will it push her back into her quiet corner or straight into Jacob's arms?
