This teaching case can be applied in undergraduate and postgraduate courses to develop students' ability to analyse problem situations and synthesise in the light of Miles and Snow's (1978) theory. This study presents the entrepreneurial trajectory of the manager of EXA Automação Industrial, a small technology-based company from the incubation processes linked to the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (PROEM) of the Technological Innovation Incubator at the Federal Technological University of Paraná - Ponta Grossa Campus, Brazil.
