Written and directed by Martin Guigui, this biographical film follows Nathaniel Clifton (Everett Osborne), one of the Black pioneers of the NBA. Known as "Sweetwater" in the courts as he toured with the Harlem Globetrotters, a recruiter spotted him and worked to have him sign with the New York Knicks. As it was unheard of in the 1950s to have a Black man play professional basketball, Sweetwater fought for his place in the professional courts as the civil rights movement unfolded outside the courts. The sports drama co-stars Jeremy Piven, Eric Roberts, Cary Elwes, and Richard Dreyfuss.
