After nearly a decade of traveling throughout the Octavale, the visionaries have reached the endgame of their journey. Veruterrae, the man responsible for the obliteration of the Octavalan world order, has been pushed to the brink of death. He is hardly still human, but he is not ready to surrender the fight.
The final battle approaches, and as the inferno of war rages on, Luke Sardenallke reflects on his accomplishments, his failings, and his relationship with Kinsey. The two of them are considering getting married, but there will be no marriage if they do not kill Veru. There will be no future for him period if they do not kill Veru, and there may not be a future for the Octavale.
With strengthened resolve, Luke leads the visionaries down the last stretch of their journey. The victory they relish is close, but it seems an eternity away. Only by slaying their archnemesis, the deadliest man in the history of the Octavale, can they right what went wrong, correct their mistakes, and bring peace and prosperity to the worlds.
