captures 's live show recorded just after the peak of his late-'70s burst of popularity, though the screaming girls that serve as background for the music show he still had some juice left. The set features and his band rocking through a selection of rock & roll oldies ("Slow Down," "Bad Boy," "Rip It Up," "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'"), some of his hits ("Da Doo Ron Ron" [also an oldie], "That's Rock & Roll," "Hey Deanie"), and a few album tracks ("Brake for the Street," "Hard Love," "She's Right"). The recording quality is fair, the band plays with energy, and sings his guts out, but the album is pretty inessential to all but the most rabid fans. Better to get any one of his uniformly excellent studio albums. ~ Tim Sendra
