An epic story full of animal facts and adventure. Stuck in the city with houses too close together, eleven-year-old Will thinks that all of his adventures are over. That all changes the day his grandpa gives him a magical pocket watch with the one stipulation, the magic only works if he includes his two obnoxious younger brothers. Much to Will's surprise, the watch begins to glow and the brothers find themselves transformed into bats. Now they must survive on bugs, learn to fly, and help the other bats, who are in danger of losing their home, if they ever hope to return to their own. The Adventure Brothers: Save the Bats is perfect for kids and adults alike who love conservation and have always wondered what it might be like to become an animal. Grab this page turning adventure today! Author Interview: 1. Why did you write The Adventure Brothers: Save the Bats? I had three boys at the time and wanted to write a book they would love. My oldest was obsessed with bats, so I ran with the idea of they transforming into the those nocturnal creatures. I'm also always trying to get them to get along, so I added some of that aspect to the story. Cooperation and conservation equal an awesome adventure! 2. What is the coolest fact about bat's you discovered from writing? Bats don't hang on when they sleep up-side-down. In fact, there is a tendon that gets pulled from their weight which clamps their toes around the wood or stone. That way, they don't have to waste energy while they dangle there. 3. Why should a parent purchase this book? I'm a mom, so understand what it's like to try and find good literature for my kids. My goal with this book was to appeal to the creative and inquisitive side of a child as well as provide them with real life situations. Will learns he is moving from his beloved farm to the city which is far away from his grandpa. It is through helping the bat family with their struggle that Will learns how to deal with his own struggle as a boy. It's a way to address hard topics without sounding too preachy.
