A king, desirous of a male heir embarks on a series of labours to find the Al Akhsir of fertility that take him to Egypt, the Land of Punt, Galhad, Omoroe, the Oracle of Delphi and finally to the Garden of Hesperides in Catalunya. His wise queen, his three intelligent daughters and the Alchemist of Begonia fail to influence the king. In the end, the king gets his male heir from his New Queen but the prince succumbs to a genetic queerness and shows no interest in becoming the king. The story is a parody of the Orientalist and Arabist style of writing and has an underlying feminist agenda.
