Once an orphan who was sent to live with her grandparents, Aurora now finds herself once again on her own when her grandfather passes away. A smart girl who finished high school and college early, and a self proclaimed nerd at heart, Aurora has a hard time digesting all the changes that his death has caused. Her inheritance is everything he had, save one, very small, and completely crazy request. She must go one year without any technology at all. Until then, only an old ragged trunk in his room can be hers.
What the trunk holds brings a whole new realm of craziness to the young and disbelieving teenager. Tales of a whole other world that she had no clue existed are inside, along with a whole array of things that make no sense. Just as she begins to think maybe it was a fictional book he was working on, a turn of events takes place and slowly she begins to believe in what his journal says. With the help of Marie, a lifelong family friend, she begins her study of the world of the Weavers and finds out what being a Nature Weaver is all about. Through her journey and trials she finds that not only is she special, but perhaps the strongest Nature Weaver that has ever lived.
