Since the author is Australian, it gives the book a unique flavor, adding to the interest. This is a fun, age-appropriate book for kids 8-12. It is filled with action, an interesting plot, a realistic main character, and plenty of bad guys. It held my interest from beginning to end. The ending keeps the reader wondering until the very last lines--a good wrap-up, leaving no dangling ends. If you love it and want more, there is another book with more adventures.
