When young Hassan Ethmar witnesses the brutal rape of his mother, he prays to the Creator for the strength to avenge her honor. The Creator answers and gives him a special ability. This gift of retribution, however, comes at a price. The Creator also gives Hassan a book filled with divine wisdom, and he is warned not to disobey its' instructions. For if he does, he will bring calamity to his family and Nation. A wicked darkness tries to persuade him to transgress the book. Does he listen to this evil or follow the Book's commands?
