With every bump in the night, her fears rose threatening to paralyze her. Why hadn't she heeded the warning? Why had she dared to cross the line between the darkness and the light? What had she been thinking?

The best that she could hope for was a swift end to the horrible torture and pain this horrid beast inflicted upon her very soul.
