The Chronicles of Nai Nai
is a story of faith, perseverance, hard work, and success through God’s mercy and grace.
Mary Shao Mei Lee Chen was born in post-World War II Taiwan. The fourth of six girls born to an accountant and office worker, Mary discovered her Christian faith at an early age. One of her earliest memories was memorizing Psalm 121:1-2 NIV - “
I lift up my eyes to the mountains – where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth
.”
Before coming to America Mary met Jen-Ling Chen, the top student in his class at Taiwan’s most prestigious university. They came to America to pursue their education. Eventually they married, started a family, and Jen-Ling attended medical school. Their road, however, was not an easy one. Modest success gave way to poverty and homelessness. A successful medical practice was threatened by a deadly medical diagnosis. Through it all, they trusted in God to look after their family and show them their path. Together with God’s guidance, they created a mission-driven healthcare organization that brings affordable, quality healthcare to America’s poorest, sickest, and most forgotten senior citizens.
is their story of faith, perseverance, hard work, and ultimately, success, through God’s mercy and grace.
