Before Dr. Phil or Dr. Ruth there was John J. Anthony. From 1932 to 1957, John J.
Anthony (in reality Lester Kroll) dispensed marital advice and counseling about
domestic issues on a variety of radio shows he hosted. Many of his shows were based
around questions he received by mail from his audience.
In 1949 Hillman Periodicals began publishing the romance comic, Mr. Anthony's Love
Clinic. There were five issues in total, all of which are in this book. Art credits include
Gill Kane, Dick Briefer, Fred Kida and Dick Rockwell.
