THE CONCIERGE is set in Miami, Florida and covers the time in which that "sleepy tourist town" of the 50's merges as the geopolitical center of Latin America in the 80's. It is a romantic, coming of age drama which traces the growth of Wade Matthews, from his days on Key Biscayne, peddling sea shells to tourists and favors to local politicians, through his involvement in drug trafficking and political intrigue, to his ultimate redemption at the hands of a woman. Along the way we are introduced to Maria Pilar de los Angeles Molina, who survives the massacres of the war in Vietnam to end up in the Peruvian Embassy in Havana at the time
of the mariel exodus. We meet Art Browning, the Vietnam War veteran who is trying to exorcize his devils, Estrella Ortiz an anti-Castro guerrilla, Sergio Morales, the petty thief who wants to be the cocaine king
pin of South Florida, and Gabriel Brito, who is being groomed to replace Fidel Castro as the leader of a free Cuba. Our journey carries us down the narrow confines of A1A to the southernmost spot in Key West, where shadowy foreign agents collide with drug dealers, Cuban patriots, and a girl on a vacation
