The Kings Mill-Morgan Creek History Project began in June 2014 with a request on our email listserv for neighbors to share their favorite stories and memories about life in the neighborhood. Soon we began hearing from people from all over the country who had grown up in the neighborhood and moved elsewhere, but still treasured memories of the time they had spent here. In September 2015, we did a presentation on the neighborhood at a meeting of the Chapel Hill Historical Society; out of that presentation came the idea for this book, which comprises thirteen chapters covering the neighborhood's natural history, architecture, notable residents, and organizations, as well as our favorite neighborhood stories.
