The Cost of Standing while Staying is the sequel to Yavon Smith's first book titled "My Safe Haven." She is back again to share the testimony of how she believed she would live an ordinary life as a wife, mother, and faithful servant at her Church. After overcoming the trauma of her past, Yavon would soon be met with many uphill battles that would threaten her marriage, family, and love for her "Safe Haven." Through divine revelation, Yavon realizes the struggles she and her family faced were from a more sinister source. It seemed as if everything she loved and all she knew was hanging by a thread. As Yavon comes face to face with attacks from the enemy, she also discovers that God is calling her to another place of surrender, prayer, humility, and authority.
