I should've listened to Jasmin's prediction. Maybe if I had, we wouldn't have taken that alley. The powers I've kept hidden weren't enough to protect us and it nearly cost my best friend her life. We were saved by a Darkling, a half-demon that shouldn't have been there, nor should he have come to our aid. By all rights, he should've killed us, instead he chose to save us and I want to know why. Too bad he isn't around to answer my questions. Just when I start thinking things are calming down, my parents drop the ball, my sister is investigating crimes that point to me, and my best friends are in danger again. Only this time, I'm sure my powers won't be enough to save them. That is until I run into another Darkling... Now the questions are, what're the motives of the Darklings, and why do I get the feeling they have links to the powers trying to kill us all?
