This Book, which takes place during the 1970's, 1980's, and early 1990's; with prehistory dating from the 1790's up until the late 1960's; is intended to forevermore immortalize the history from these periods of time.
The well-heeled couple, David and Jane Magnay; and their Autistic son Arthur Magnay, live in a nearly 4,000 square foot house on 13 acres of property in the Erie area of Pennsylvania; jointly own a Long-Haul Semi-Trucking Company and a NASCAR Team during the Golden Age of NASCAR, and Jane Magnay is also a School Bus Driver as her dayjob.
Besides Jane Magnay having a professional relationship with her boss Matthew Watcher, the Director of Transportation; the Magnay household (Arthur included) also have a personal relationship, a friendship with Matthew Watcher.
The Magnays are School Bus and Motorhome enthusiasts, Jane Magnay loves her dayjob as a School Bus Driver, and because of this, David and Jane Magnay own several Blue Bird Wanderlodge Motorhomes over the course of the time this Book takes place, and like many insiders of the Bus and Commercial Truck industries; the Chassis is the most important aspect to the Magnays and to Matthew Watcher of any Bus, Motorhome, and Commercial Truck. Likewise with the Cargo Van being the most important aspect of any Conversion Van and Class B Motorhome.
Broadcasting is a very important subject to the Magnay family, and the Magnay family are friends with the Evening News Broadcast Division, owners of NPVT-AM-FM-TV, NPVX-SW, and NPSW-SW.
The friendship between the Magnay and the Botting families (owners of the Evening News organization) dates back to 1930 when Earl Botting (then the chairman of the Evening News organization) had hired Thora Magnay (David's Mother and Arthur's Paternal Grandmother) for her position at NPVT-AM in 1930. Thora Magnay would go on to be the first person seen on NPVT-TV when it had signed on as an Experimental Television Station in 1932, the first voice heard on NPVT-FM when it had signed on the air as an Experimental APEX Station in 1934; would go on to announce the International Service of NPSW-SW in multiple languages besides the English language beginning in 1940 and throughout the entire duration of WWII, and following the War, in 1946; would take a job with the Voice of America, where she would remain until her retirement in 1981; while continuing to maintain an eternal friendship with the Botting family. David Magnay, for a time; had also worked for the Evening News Broadcast Division. When the FCC, in 1964; had issued a decree that FM Radio Stations were to no longer simulcast their AM parents, and had to air programming that is at lest 50% separate from their AM parents and/or forge a wholly new and different identity from that of their AM parents, with David Magnay being on the shortlist of people that they could hire for the position, as he is the son of a legendary announcer for NPVT-AM-FM-TV and NPSW-SW; and as the Magnay and Botting families have long since been friends, had spearheaded the transition of NPVT-FM from simulcasting the AM Station to adopting its hybrid Adult Contemporary-Jazz-Easy Listening format in 1967.David, Jane, and Arthur Magnay are also Ham Radio Operators; and they are very active in the Ham Radio Clubs that they belong to.
The Magnay family is a British Aristocratic family dating to the early 1300's and the Norman Conquest of Great Britain, and had largely contributed to the early colonization of Australia in the late 18th and early 19th Centuries. Over time and right up until the present day, the British, Australian, South African, and Canadian branches of the family have remained in contact.
Thora Magnay's parents had immigrated to the United States from Australia in the 1900's, creating the American branch of the family that Thora, David, and Arthur Magnay are each a part of by blood.
Jane Magnay is of Volga German and homogeneous Russian ancestry.
This Edition is in loving memory of Kenley Dean "Ken" Squier (1935-2023), personal friend of the Authors, owner of WDEV-AM upon inheriting ownership from his father Lloyd Squier upon his passing in 1979; founder of the Radio Vermont Group, -founder and co-owner together with Tom Curley of the Thunder Road Quarter Mile Automobile Racetrack in Barre, Vermont; co-owner of the Catamount Stadium (an Automobile Racetrack, and not a Stick and Ball Sports Venue) alongside Tom Curley and Archie Blackadar from this Track's inception in 1964 up until its closure in 1988, a one-time owner of the Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, New York; NASCAR Announcer for CBS and Turner Broadcasting, and along with former Head of Business Affairs for CBS and CBS Sports President Neal Pilson; was instrumental in not only getting one of the Big 3 Television Networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) to televise a NASCAR Race flag to flag as a regularly scheduled event, but also helping to facilitate NASCAR's entry into mainstream acceptability.
