The shocking discovery of the body of the Dean of Humanities on the grounds of a University's Elementary School brings Detective Rachel Ginsburg and her homicide team to the campus. A piece of torn paper with a quotation and a number appears with the Dean's body, but the detectives have no idea what it means. Soon another body is found on the steps of the administration building at the center of the university's campus with still another note. Although the inveterate Mrs. Sylvia Greenberg appears with gossip from her daughter's connections to the university, the detectives are stumped and find themselves with a few motives and little evidence. When a third body appears this crime turns into a serial killing.
