The cover of my book explains, in detail, topics the reader will find as they go through the journey of my first seventeen years of life. Beaten, battered, abused & abandoned I still managed to survive against most odds & in spite of the disease of alcoholism & the domestic violence that ran through my family. If you or someone you know has been affected by the disease of alcoholism, or you know people whose lives have been affected by domestic violence, child abuse, child neglect, or if you are a foster parent or foster child, a social worker or therapist, or you are just curious about what alcoholism, drug abuse &/or domestic violence does to a family & the children that were raised in & out of foster homes, then you will find a bit of everything in my childhood to relate to. This book, my childhood, is not for the faint of heart. It is a very uncomfortable story to read, but I felt the need to share what happened to me, in hopes that others may either recognize themselves in my story, or even help someone who is currently in one of the situations I found myself in. It is truly by God's Grace that I lived to tell the story of what happens to the children when parents drink or use drugs in excess. When men & women start throwing punches at each other, they don't have time to worry about their children. I am just putting a voice to the abusers, from a child's perspective, and giving a voice to children who are still living the same way I did. You are not alone!
