"Yeah, whatever." O'Neil sighed in return as he put his pistol away. "I'll let the grand kids deal with them, then. I have worry about right now. So, this really isn't Jeffrey Jennings here?"
"No, my name is Mal, Honest." Mal answered for himself.
He sighed and shook his head. "Lower your weapons men, this isn't our boy. Looks like we've been fed misinformation. Damn, the President is going to have my ass for this foul up."
"Not entirely." Turk replied after seeing O'Neil's men lower their weapons and his own people relax a bit themselves. "The leader of Grungetown thought Mal was Jeffrey also. That's why we had so much trouble there. But if you're willing to do a little pay back for me, I could kind of help you sooth Madam President's ruffled feathers."
"And how do you plan on doing that?" O'Neil sighed again.
"Grungetown has about eighty well-armed men guarding it." Turk stated. "The only straight way in is through a narrow pass that leads up to the gates. The entrance is guarded by heavy machine guns and small howitzers. They could hold off a thousand man attack indefinitely."
"Well," O'Neil grumbled, "Since I don't have a thousand men to spare and neither does the President, tell my how this information will make the President any less pissed than she'll be when she finds out Jeffrey is still out there somewhere and not in her hands?"
"Because," Turk smiled as he handed O'Neil his hand drawn map, "I have the key to the back door and now so do you. I'd say you have enough men with you right now, to easily take over the place. And once you control the front gates, ain't no one else coming or going without your say so. Keep a few men back to watch the back door and the President will have a whole new source of enough equipment to keep her happy until her term in office is long past."
"And you're just giving us this map for free?" O'Neil questioned.
"Consider it a present from a loyal citizen." Turk replied, offering O'Neil his hand. "Or just my duty as a reserve Officer. Either way. If you kill that son of a bitch Al, I'll consider us even."
"Good enough for me." O'Neil answered back and then made a circling motion over his head. O'Neil's men began to slowly back out of the camp until only O'Neil was left. Then O'Neil started to walk away, speaking to Turk as he left. "But you better watch your back. Word is out that you got the kid and there seems to be a lot of people who want him now. Stay safe, Roger."
"One more thing before you go." Turk called out. "Cheyenne Mountain is open for negotiations with you also. Just don't show up with an Army and I think they'll be willing to talk about unification."
"How do I find them?' O'Neil asked. "We've been looking for them for months."
"Here." Sandy said with a sigh as she walked forward, pulling something from her pocket.
"What's this?' O'Neil asked, looking at the piece of paper.
"It's the coordinates to Cheyenne Mountain." Sandy replied. "My Grandfather really does wish to re-establish contact with the U.S. Government."
"Will this really be worth our time?" O'Neil sighed as he looked at the latitude and longitude numbers. "How many men do they have to help reunite the country?"
"It's not the manpower." Turk answered, shaking his head. "It's the working equipment. They don't have trucks or tanks that can be driven away, but they do have full manufacturing capabilities as well as electricity."
"Electricity?" O'Neil questioned.
"And a working TV station inside the Mountain." Turk nodded. "I watched TV while staying there. Took hot showers, rode on working elevators. It's really a fun place to visit."
"Then I'll make a point of doing so." O'Neil yelled back as he disappeared into the darkness. "Thanks Roger. I'd say, all of this will definitely make the Presidents day, Jeffrey or not. So, where will you go from here?"
"We were thinking of checking out the Family or maybe the Children of Murphous." Turk sighed. "There as good as any other place to check."
"Don't bother checking out the Children of Murphous." O'Neil stated. "We've already paid them a visit. They had some kind of accident that thinned out their ranks considerably. They only have a handful of people left. It'll be a long time before they are a real threat to anyone, if they can recover at all."
'I told you," Harold sighed as he warmed his hands over the fire. "Jeffrey is being held by the Duke."
"Yeah, right." Turk snickered. "Him and the Harvesters."
