The The plot of the story is the following: a father and son take a trip to the West coast of Ireland to stay at the house that the protagonist father built over 100 years ago and to go to a music festival. On the day after their arrival, the protagonist falls down a flight of stairs in his father's house and breaks his leg. The rest of the story deals with what happens to the protagonist- both internally and externally- as a result of his fall.
