The Women of AngelFire return to the Inn for another annual retreat, but this year has a few more "firsts." Each of the women was given a golden opportunity in the first story of the series, and now we discover what each has accom- plished. The year brought choices-and the repercussions of choices-In love, career, and family. Even a few men join us this year! Caroline's late husband Frank, still lingers at the Inn, but this time he is not alone. More is revealed about Frank's past and his fortune. Speaking of fortunes, this year we see the varied responses to the new found prosperity of at least four of our characters. The young Miss Elaina returns to our story and Reverend Greene is forced to choose between principle, belief and the law. Marti, now a concert pianist, has the task of building a new career and reconciling the truth about her family. Career building is also the task of Sigrid, our entrepreneurial baker, who unfailingly puts a smile on each page. All the families of the Women of AngelFire reunite to help Caroline with the one golden opportunity she was unable to give, but promised to give, in the first book of the series. The Women of AngelFire have a spiritual bond that transcends age, and their ethnic and cultural diversity. For each has accepted the other "as is" and simply loved them. Friends are the family we choose and our bonds with them can only open our hearts more fully, more deeply.
