The Kid from Dodgertown...Boy, do we need him now. Los Angeles Dodgers beat reporter Rosa Santos has seen it all. Whether it's player suspensions for anti-social behavior, tainted records due to performance enhancing substances, or outrageous demands for money that lead to crippling labor disputes, she's had it with the game she once loved. But then, pitcher Darnell "Heater" Hayward comes along, offering to tell her a story he promises will change her perspective. Of course, Rosa is suspicious. What could this jock possibly have to say that would alter her jaundiced view of our National Pastime? What Hayward then shares with Rosa will lead her to question not only her feelings for the game, but her understanding of life itself.
