In this, the third book of missionary stories from the harvest fields of India by the Rev. Chamberlain, the minister and medical doctor with the Reformed Church in America, looks back on nearly 50 years of fruitful ministry with evident satisfaction that the work produced many converts to Christianity and churches in a land where the cost of Christian commitment is very high, producing several stories illustrative of some who succeeded in turning over a new leaf and and others who failed. Most of Chamberlain's missionary endeavors on behalf of the Telugu people were based at Madanapalle, where he helped to build a hospital, churches, schools, and other facilities representative of Christ's kingdom in India.
