Gary Stokes, a young American from California, finds himself accepting a job that takes him to East Africa, a place he had never dreamt of making his home. As he struggles to understand his new environment, he is also confronted with the normal loneliness that befalls most foreign expatriates that take on jobs in foreign lands. Gary, having promised his steady girlfriend back home in USA that he will never let anything come between them even when he is far away, finds himself in the middle of a love triangle that he could not handle by himself without the help of his good new friend, Guy.
