Have you ever wondered if people could be descended from huge, soaring, fire-breathing Dragons? Do Dragons ever go through an awkward, gangly, misfit, acne-prone puberty phase? Dagan finds out what it means to be descended from Dragons while struggling to find where he belongs and who he is. Bullied in the Orphanage he was left at as an infant; Dagan prefers to spend his time alone. But as the need arises, Dagan finds himself getting involved to stop the ridicule of others. Dagan has a lot to learn while he is not defending himself from bullies, dodging his new friends, and desperately trying to avoid being smothered to death with hugs and delicious food by his unexpected savior's husband. Ok, the food part isn't so bad. The hugs he could do without. Dagan will learn about the Houses of Dragon and the magic abilities that run in each family as he and his uninvited friends embark on a journey to find the broken Horn of an ancient Dragon God, but they are not the only ones searching for the Horn. Dagan must also attend a slew of courses in fire breathing, spell casting, and the history of their people, in this tale of magic, friendship, and non-traditional family all blended together in a tantalizing combination of sarcasm, wit, and humor.
